MY BILTONG STORY
As far back as I can remember, I’ve been eating and enjoying both biltong and drywors. It goes all the way back to when I was a baby, my mom gave my brother and I biltong and drywors to chew on when we were teething, we haven’t stopped eating it since.
Biltong and drywors making has been in my family for generations, as a child I’d help my grandfather make biltong and drywors, he hung his meat in the garage to dry, my father did the same, when he made biltong and drywors, he would also hang the meat in the garage to dry. I’ve made biltong and drywors for years and guess where I hang it? Yip, in the garage… I’ve tried almost every place possible to hang meat and the garage is by far the best place.
When making biltong and drywors we would always make extra so we could share with our friends and family. This may seem like a family tradition, it’s not, it’s been going on for hundreds of years and it’s part of our South African heritage… It’s a real South African tradition.
It’s impossible to find good quality authentic traditional biltong and drywors in the USA, trust me, I’ve searched high and low, its nowhere to be found. I know I’m not alone, I’m sure this is everyone’s experience… and because of this, I decided to open The Biltong Garage and put a stop to everyone’s biltong and drywors struggle.
My promise to you is that The Biltong Garage will make the best biltong and drywors in the USA, and we will make it the good old South African way, the only way!!
Enjoy…
